  Often, there are shows. But rarely are there shows with incidental music that compels one to take of their shirt and dance in sweaty upper rooms. One hot August night I caught GOWTRON, an outfit that creates such an auditory backdrop. Surrounding the duo (Matt Holden-guitar, vox and Andrew Olshevski-drums, vox) was a throng of half-naked high school boys and (fully clothed) girls, lost in the ominously simplistic drumming and anthemic, noodling guitar riffage. 'TRON Time. Emotional shouts mingle with gorgeous and meandering interludes, tied together by lyrics that mean something but nothing Sheer originality, greatness, a gentle brutality, and deep oceans.
