Chewing Gum Tree was at forged the ending of Morgan and Josh's junior year of highschool. Morgan said "I wanna be in a band but I don't wanna have to like, bring everyone together, it'd be cool if someone just asked me to be in a band." Josh said "Chyea, good luck on that." then a few weeks later he asked if she wanted to start a band. Morgan and Josh met in 10th grade at The Crefeld School in Chestnut Hill. The bands name was found in the Aardvark to Cyclops book of "The Illustrated Library of the Natural Sciences" four book set. Morgan was born in Boston but moved to Cambridge, England when she was 7 where she lived until she was 10. She then moved out to Berwyn, PA on the Main Line. Josh was born and raised in Media, PA. Chewing Gum Tree writes autobiographical lovesick twee songs about highschool breakups, the ceremonial link between funerals and weddings, biographies of friends, and fucking. Kind of like if Belle and Sebastian wrote songs purely based on Degrassi story lines, but only after season 3 when Marco came out of the closet and Craig's dad died. Amateurish home recording gives Chewing Gum Tree a humble and obtainable feel. Prepare to be charmed.
